Choosing entry points for personal care shipments into Vietnam
Personal care shipments carry more labelling and sample-check friction than many dry grocery lines. The corridor that looks cheapest on ocean freight can lose that advantage in dwell time.
For LCL personal care, importers we work with often favour corridors where their forwarder already clears similar SKUs weekly. Familiarity with ingredient lists and Vietnamese labelling layouts reduces back-and-forth more reliably than a slightly shorter sea transit.
Full-container loads with stable SKU mixes behave differently. Here, consistency of weekly sailings and warehouse proximity to your distribution belt matter more than the last mile of port prestige.
Before locking a corridor for a new line, send one pilot shipment with the exact packaging you intend to sell. Observe documentation questions, not only calendar days. Those questions predict the steady-state cost better than a first-shipment stopwatch.
